Dr. Uwe Albrecht is Managing Director of Ludwig-Bölkow-Systemtechnik GmbH (LBST), a Munich based consulting firm for sustainable energy and mobility. Hydrogen has been a focus activity for four decades, and LBST has been supporting international customers from industry, finance, and the public sector with techno-economic analyses, modelling, and feasibility studies as well as with detailed advice on the associated regulatory and market environment. The focused expertise of LBST covers the entire hydrogen value chain. A key common denominator of all activities is the rigorous system approach, making sure all relevant elements of a tightly networked system are taken into account, providing the customers of LBST with a comprehensive and complete basis for their decisions. Dr. Albrecht joined LBST in 2008 from Siemens Venture Capital, where he was a Managing Partner, supporting the corporate growth strategy of Siemens AG with international investments into innovative startup companies in the energy and industry sectors. Prior responsibilities include various innovation and technology management roles at Siemens AG and at Mannesmann AG. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Washington, Seattle, a Physics Diploma from Johannes-Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, and a Ph.D. (summa cum laude) in Physics from Universität Konstanz.

Bart Biebuyck is since May 2016 the Executive Director of the Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (Clean Hydrogen JU), a public-private partnership aiming at facilitating the deployment of fuel cells and hydrogen technologies in Europe. Under his leadership, a strong emphasis on cooperation with cities and regions led to the creation of the Hydrogen Valleys concept and the formation of the European Hydrogen Valleys partnership. Dissemination of project results and building technology awareness among the European citizens became an important priority. As an engineer he understands the importance of basic research and is a key focusing point on the call preparations. Before, Bart Biebuyck was at the Powertrain Division of Toyota Motor Europe where he held various management positions. His expertise in the automotive industry includes extensive knowledge related to the deployment of new technologies such as hydrogen and fuel cells in the European market. Bart was responsible for the European trials of the Toyota Fuel Cell Vehicle, which were conducted partly in the German Clean Energy Partnership (CEP) program. He also had the opportunity to develop and expand his expertise in Japan, where he lived and worked for two years. In addition to his industrial experience, Bart has been politically active in his local town since 2006. In 2013 he became the vice president of the City Council, responsible, among others, for the local economy and education. Bart's term as the Executive Director of the Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking was extended for four years until May 2023. Bart studied Automotive engineering at the HTS Autotechnieken in Arnhem, The Netherlands.

Fernando Brun, Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina, is a career diplomat born on 7 January 1971 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He graduated in Political Science and International Relations from the Catholic University of Argentina. In 1996, he was admitted to the Institute of Diplomatic Service through a State exam. In 1999, he began his career as a career diplomat. In 2009, he was appointed Chief of Staff of the Undersecretary for International Trade. In 2010, he was promoted to Chief of Staff of the Secretary for International Trade and Foreign Economic Relations. In March 2016, he was tasked as Deputy Head of Mission at the Argentine Embassy in Brasil, until his appointment as Argentine Consul General in Hamburg. In 2017 he was responsible for coordinating the G20 Summit in Hamburg. Since December 2019, he worked as Head of the Cabinet for International Relations in the Secretary of State for Strategic Affairs of the Office of the President of Argentina, where he was responsible, among other tasks, for energy transition, with a focus on green hydrogen. He has been Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany since Januray 17th 2023. Mr Brun speaks English, French, Portuguese and German (ZDAF & ZMP Goethe Institut Buenos Aires)."

Mr. Toro is an expert in the field of energy efficiency in industry, decarbonization and energy policy and has worked for over 19 years in this sector. He has acted on several occasions as Team and Project leader. He holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, an MBA in resources and sustainable energy technologies and a PhD in Energy Economics and Policy especially for Innovations like Hydrogen, Renewables and Energy Efficiency. His PhD was conducted in Germany at Fraunhofer and IREES. His focus has been the technical-economic and Research and Development Aspects of several technologies and crucial market barriers for different actors and stakeholders that hinder market uptake and up-scaling. Based on this, he and his teams have drafted policy recommendations at different level to foster new technology developments in developing economies. He has developed excellent leadership skills in his career as well as experience advising GIZ and industries like the pilot projects on Energy Efficiency Networks in Brazil and Mexico. He has developed cooperation partnerships in Germany, the EU, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Argentina, Sweden, Turkey and Egypt and served as an important interface with public and private stakeholders in the fields of energy, climate and sustainability. In consultancies, he provided international analysis of the framework conditions for energy efficiency in industry and buildings, advised on market entry activities and conducted negotiations, and was the contact person for decision-makers in ministries, utilities and technology providers in the respective countries. Mr. Toro is connected to Fraunhofer since he worked in analysis of alternative renewable energy technologies for the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI in the past and he has been working in senior positions for two institutions that were created from Fraunhofer activities: The Institute for Resource Efficiency and Energy Strategies IREES GmbH, where he was among others business unit manager and authorized representative, responsible for the team, budgets and results, and Learning Energy Efficiency Networks LEEN GmbH. Involved with these institutions, Mr. Toro advises currently a number of projects in the energy sector in Latin America and Europe, for example a World Bank project on energy efficiency and renewable energy in Public Buildings in Colombia, a project in Austria to promote a climate-neutral industry, including hydrogen options, a the GIZ energy efficiency pilot network project in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and advisory on energy efficiency instruments and multiple benefits in the EU under the Horizon 2020 program, and a green mobility project in Peru. Mr. Toro demonstrates leadership, integrity and professionalism as a team leader and manager. He is multilingual with excellent intercultural and social skills.

Jorgo Chatzimarkakis is CEO of Hydrogen Europe since 2016. Before he was Representative of Infineon Technologies in Brussels and Member of the European Parliament (2004 - 2014) inter alia in the ITRE Committee (Industry, Technology, Research and Energy) where he could contribute to lay the cornerstone for the first and the second Joint Undertaking on hydrogen and fuel cells. In 2007 he was elected 'MEP of the year' by his colleagues of the European Parliament in the category 'Research and Innovation'. In 2015 he was appointed ambassador at large for Greece. Mr Chatzimarkakis was born in Duisburg, Germany. He holds German and Greek nationality, a degree in political science from the University of Bonn.

Ewelina Daniel is Policy Officer in European Commission, Directorate General (DG) Climate Action working on development of pilot auctions scheme for renewable hydrogen under the Innovation Fund. She also coordinates the Innovation Fund large-scale calls for proposals and works on the use of Innovation Fund for financial instruments. Previously she was team leader in DG Energy on energy system modelling for setting the 2030 energy and climate targets and she also worked in DG Internal Market on regulatory standards for vehicles. She has master degrees in political science and in economics.

Alexander Dauensteiner studied mechanical engineering at the University of Stuttgart and graduated in 1998. After several years at the Fraunhofer Institute IPA in Stuttgart focusing on eco-design and life cycle management, he moved to the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy and worked with Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker and Amory Lovins on the topic of the 1-liter car. In 2002, he moved to heating appliance manufacturer Vaillant as project manager for fuel cell heating appliances and became head of product management innovation three years later. From 2015 to 2017 he was Head of Product Management System Products and from February 2017 to October 2019 Senior Association Manager Digitalization of the Vaillant Group. In October 2019, he moved to Viessmann in Allendorf (Eder) as Product Line Owner Fuel Cells. He is also responsible for Viessmann's global hydrogen activities and since May 2022 also for gas appliances in residential and light commercial applications as well as floor-standing gas and liquid fuel appliances. He is Maximilian Viessmann's sherpa on the German government's National Hydrogen Council.

In the meantime FEST advanced to become a leading supplier for containerised MW scale Electrolyser in Europe.

Australia

Philip Green has been the Australian Ambassador to Germany since 2020. In this role, he has been focusing on: - deepening German engagement in the Indo-Pacific - setting the foundations for a supply chain in Green Hydrogen between Australia and Germany, and - securing the right environment in Germany for the conclusion of the EU-Australia Free Trade Agreement. Immediately prior to arriving in Germany, Mr Green worked in the Australian foreign and trade ministry, leading the implementation of Australia's Indo Pacific Strategy, as well as Australia's relations with the United States and ASEAN. Mr Green has served as Ambassador or High Commissioner on three other assignments - in Singapore (2012-2016), South Africa (2004-2008) and Kenya (1998-2000). Mr Green worked as International Adviser to then Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd (2009-2010) and as Chief of Staff when Dr Rudd was Foreign Minister (2010-2012). He led the Secretariat for the Review of Australian Intelligence Agencies in 2004. Mr Green was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2003 for his role in the response to the Bali terrorist tragedy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney. He has been awarded honorary degrees from James Cook University and Murdoch University. Mr Green is married to Professor Doctor Susan Marks, who holds the Chair in International Law at the London School of Economics.

Volker Häckh recently joined Lhyfe, a producer of green hydrogen with its headquarters located in Nantes, France, in September of 2022. In his role as a consultant, he is driving business development in Germany, focusing on the sectors of mobility and industry. Simultaneously, Volker is the managing director of his business consulting firm vohatec GmbH. Prior to that, Volker was holding several senior management positions at Linde AG, i.e. the management of global development, sales and marketing in Western Europe and the overall business of a German region. After studying chemical engineering at KIT in Karlsruhe, he took part in various leadership training courses, including one at Duke University, USA.

Prof. Dr. Christopher Hebling studied Physics and worked for like ten years in the field of Silicon Photovoltaics before he became Director of the Hydrogen Technologies Division at ISE with a staff of about 150 scientists, engineers, and students today. Among his manyfold affiliations he is the spokesperson of the Fraunhofer Hydrogen Network (36 institutes) and Board Member of the Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence 'Integrated Energy Systems'. Next to his close involvement in national hydrogen strategy developments he is member of the Expert committee for the Transformation of the Automobile Industry of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. Furthermore, he is the Co-Chair of the German Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association, and he is involved in international stakeholder processes and advisory boards of international hydrogen and fuel cell conferences. He published more than 150 journal and conference papers and is Honorary Professor at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. The Hydrogen Technologies Division conducts research in low temperature polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) electrolysis and fuel cell systems, as well as in thermochemical catalysis and process developments of hydrogen to synthetic fuels and chemicals (PtX).

Cornelius is a well-respected leader and investor in the renewable energy industry and built several successful clean energy businesses and start-ups within Middle East and Africa. He has extensive board level experience from 10 years in Deutsche Bank (among others, youngest board member in Deutsche Bank Italy Group) and several leading renewable energy organisations and associations via pro bono work as well as different startup companies. By building the international shareholder and partner network of Dii (Desertec Industrial Initiative), he was at the forefront of the renewable energy revolution in North Africa and the Middle East. A keen entrepreneur and investor in emerging markets with recognitions such as 'Solar Pioneer 2015' for the Middle East or the Visionary CleanTech Influencer of The Year 2022 by World Cleantech Awards. He is lecturing at several universities including St. Gallen and is a regular speaker at international conferences. He holds an MBA (Dipl. Previous to joining the Commission, Johanna worked in the power sector and as a researcher on auctions and clean tech funding. She holds a BA from Oxford University and an MPA from Harvard University.

Julia Seitz completed her master's degree in environmental sciences with focus on climate-change-impacts at the University of Freiburg, Germany. In the divison, about 150 scientists, engineers and students conduct research in low temperature polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) electrolysis and fuel cell systems, as well as in thermochemical processing of hydrogen for the production of synthetic fuels and chemicals. Julia Seitz is the personal assistant and research associate to the division director Prof. Christopher Hebling. Kurt-Christoph von Knobelsdorff ist Volkswirt und hat nach beruflichen Stationen u.a. beim Deutschen Industrie- und Handelskammertag (DIHK) und beim Verband der Familienunternehmer leitende Funktionen im Berliner Senat und im Wirtschaftsministerium Schleswig-Holstein innegehabt. Zuletzt war er Abteilungsleiter im Energieministerium Brandenburg, ehe er die Geschäftsführung der NOW GmbH übernahm. Die NOW GmbH leistet mit der Koordination von Programmen der Bundesregierung, der Politikberatung und Netzwerkarbeit an der Schnittstelle von Politik, Industrie, Kommunen und Wissenschaft einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Realisierung der Klimaziele, zu denen sich Deutschland verpflichtet hat.

Before becoming independent, he worked for more than 20 years in the European Commission. In 1999 he joined DG Enterprise and Industry in the sector for technical harmonisation in the Common Market and EN standardisation. In 2003 he was appointed Head of Unit dealing with Entrepreneurship and SME Policy and later Advisor in the same area. In 2016 he became Senior Adviser for Macroregional Strategies the Danube Region, working from Vienna. After returning to Brussels in 2018 he was named Senior Adviser for Advanced Industrial Technologies and Hydrogen Coordinator in DG GROW. Before joining the European Commission, Christian Weinberger worked in the private sector, for 10 years with a large multinational corporation in Marketing, Sales, Finance and Special Business Operations in various countries and at European HQ and then founded an international SME in Information Technology and was its CEO for 10 years. Being a European born in Austria, Christian Weinberger holds a Master of Physics in Engineering, an MBA and a Ph.D. in Economics.
