STABL Energy develops modular multilevel converters for battery storage systems. Our innovation changes BESS's architecture and offers the safety of low-voltage systems with higher efficiency than high-voltage systems.
Instead of chopping a high voltage battery pack's voltage to generate the sine wave for the grid connection, the STABL inverter dynamically connects the battery modules with each other and builds a step sine wave.
By implementing STABL technology into their systems, storage manufacturers can offer battery storage systems that are more efficient, safe, and affordable. The output voltage of our inverter is based on software. Therefore, different applications can be served with the same hardware. This makes product management easier and flexible. Thanks to our modular approach, a central battery inverter is no longer needed.
The software-based functionality and the modular approach allow us to perform state estimations (e.g., state of health) of battery modules during operation without any downtime. This offers battery and storage manufacturers unprecedented insights into the battery with high high-quality, real-life data at any time and allows for new business models for insurances and banks. The modular approach also allows battery modules of different manufacturers, types, and states to be integrated with each other in one storage system – an immense advantage for second-life applications.
