The Gumi National Industrial Complex, established in 1969, has been the backbone of Gumi’s economy for 55 years. Spanning 38 square kilometers across five districts, it houses around 3,500 diverse companies in industries such as electronics, machinery, and advanced technologies, with approximately 85,000 experienced workers. In addition, in April 2023, Gumi was designated as a Defense Innovation Cluster, and in July, as a Semiconductor Specialized Complex. Furthermore, it was designated as a Special Economic Zone for Opportunity Development in 2024, securing growth engines to attract cutting-edge industries. Gumi is also actively working to foster an innovative ecosystem for secondary batteries, including the establishment of a key secondary battery hub, the construction of a BaaS (Battery as a Service) demonstration base, and High-Tech Rolls Advanced Technology Support Infrastructure Project.
We are committed to making Gumi the heart of South Korea’s secondary battery industry. Invest in Gumi, a city that is not only business-friendly but also investment-friendly!
