Impressions of ees Europe

The smarter E Europe

“Creating a new energy world” – that’s the goal of The smarter E Europe, the continent’s largest platform for the energy industry, with a focus on cross-sector solutions linking electricity, heating and transportation for an intelligent and sustainable energy supply. The topics comprise all the core areas along the supply chain – from the generation, storage, distribution and usage of electricity and heat to sector coupling.

The smarter E Europe brings together a total of four exhibitions to give energy industry players from around the world a comprehensive overview of the latest developments and trends:

  • Intersolar Europe – The world’s leading exhibition for the solar industry
  • ees Europe – The continent’s largest and most international exhibition for batteries and energy storage systems
  • Power2Drive Europe – The international exhibition for charging infrastructure and e-mobility
  • EM-Power Europe – The international exhibition for energy management and integrated energy solutions

Sustainable Batteries - Impact on the Market

Jun/09/2021 - 11:00 am

ICM München, Room 13A

In Europe, industrial and consumer goods are subject to increasing scrutiny in respect of their sustainability - and batteries and battery-enabled products such as electric vehicles are no exception. Battery market players need to address environmental and societal concerns in order to comply with regulations, avoid jeopardizing the image of energy storage as a “clean technology”, and differentiate themselves from low cost, non-sustainable products from other regions. This session will outline how the trend towards sustainable batteries will affect the market in future in regulatory, economic and other respects.

Hybrid Power: Combining Energy Storage with Non-PV Renewables

Jun/09/2021 - 09:00 am

ICM München, Room 13A

Nowadays, most European renewables-plus-storage plants incorporate solar PV systems. However, in a growing number of projects, plants of this type are combining energy storage systems with other renewable energy sources, such as wind turbines, hydroelectric power stations and fossil-fuel-based power generation. Although not a particularly novel approach, co-locating energy assets in this manner is becoming increasingly widespread. In this session, speakers will examine the underlying rationale and assess the potential economic impact of combining energy storage with non-PV green power generation.
