In 2025 alone\, over 27 GWh of storage capacity was installed in the EU\, while Germany is seeing strong growth\, particularly in large-scale storage systems. At the same time\, implementation is lagging behind the requirements of the energy transition\, and 2026 is considered a pivotal year for setting the regulatory course. In Germany\, a sharp rise in connection requests is intersecting with new grid tariff and market design issues\, as well as uncertainties regarding the regulatory framework. Topics such as grid integration\, revenue models\, and the role of storage in the future energy system are the focus.
