For more than 3 decades, the APL GmbH located in Landau/Germany has provided high quality and cutting-edge powertrain engineering support to an international customer base from automotive-, aviation- and mineral oil industry.
Of the 1700 highly qualified and motivated employees of the APL Group, 1200 of them work at APL GmbH and use the most modern testing equipment and facilities on a daily basis. This includes nearly 200 engine, gearbox, drivetrain, chassis dyno, battery cell, battery module and battery pack test stands as well as the the new fuel cell and H2 combustion engine test facility located at our headquarters in Landau, Germany.
Coupled with innovative development tools, test methods as well as complete solutions for test stands and measurement equipment, we deliver the highest quality powertrain development and validation service to our customers thus shaping tomorrow’s mobility.
Considering the value chain the development portfolio of the APL comprises besides design and simulation also the development and calibration of combustion processes, exhaust aftertreatment systems and electrification strategies as well as the optimization of all emission relevant influences and parameters under real driving conditions – an optimized turnkey solution for every technical issue.
As part of the rapidly increasing decarbonization of drive technology, the fuel cell as an emission-free energy converter is an integral part of APL’s service portfolio. The further expansion of the hydrogen and fuel cell test field up to 300 kW is running at full speed. The first expansion phase with 6 short stack test benches is already firmly in customer hands.
