Within the next decade, the employment within the German photovoltaic and storage industry could triple, creating more than 50,000 new jobs. The demand for lithium-ion battery suppliers continues to increase, in a large part due to the boom in e-mobility. Major automotive companies are in the process of setting up their own battery production facilities, thus making their contribution to the energy transition. This calls for advanced manufacturing and assembly technologies for batteries, focusing on higher speed and high output rates while keeping the energy demand low.
