Renewable energies are an increasingly integral element of the energy mix. Utility-scale solar power plants, combined with electrical energy storage (ees) systems, are fast becoming the backbone of national and regional energy infrastructures. Experts expect the capacity of utility-scale systems to expand sharply in the years ahead and become increasingly attractive and sustainable investments for the financial sector. This session will outline technical, operational, and economic issues, discuss the need for favorable regulatory landscapes, and present some emerging business models.
